Sammie Purcell is an associate editor, entertainment reporter, and movie critic for Rough Draft Atlanta. She writes Rough Draft's weekly film and entertainment newsletter, Scene, which publishes on Fridays and hits more than 3,200 inboxes. She is also co-host of the film industry podcast Crash Zoom and of the WABE radio show How Do You Atlanta? She served as a member of the jury for the 2025 Atlanta Jewish Film Festival and is also a member of the Atlanta Film Critics Circle. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and has a Masters in Journalism from Boston University.
