Born and raised in New York City, I knew as a child, my career goals would not be ordinary, but complex. I wanted to be a Motion Picture & Entertainment Entrepreneur!
WARNER BROS. PICTURES-(1965-1967)
My first “real” job was with Warner Brothers Pictures. I handled the theatrical bookings of the world famous WB Looney Tunes & Merrie Melodie cartoons to accompany the feature films.
UNITED ARTISTS PICTURES CORP. -(1967-1977) “At United Artists, I was the youngest Branch Manager ever hired by a major motion picture company. I was just 26 at that time, and the closest person to my age that was a Branch Manager, was 20 years my senior!".
“While at United Artists, I distributed and used unique distribution procedures for 10 of the James Bond films, three of the four Beatles films, five films by Woody Allen, Oscar winning films like, "In the Heat of the Night", "Midnight Cowboy" "One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest" and other Blockbuster films like "Fiddler on the Roof" "How to Succeed in Business, Without Really Trying" "Man of LaMancha", and countless others! Including the pre-"Dirty Harry" Clint Eastwood "Spaghetti" Westerns released thru United Artists.
During the time I was at UA, I was a non-voting member of the Motion Picture Academy of Arts & Sciences. (The Oscars). I was invited and attended many on screen premieres and off screen parties & events (I hated to see that era end).
MOVIE FILM SERVICES, CORP.-(1977-Present) It was a sad day, when I left U A. It wasn’t by choice; it was by merger when the company became MGM/UA.
"I saw the writing on the wall". I felt I went as far as I could get at U A. I had to make a change" Good things were about to happen when I made my way to Hollywood, Hollywood, Florida, that is.
My dad retired to Florida and gave me the idea of using my contacts in the motion picture business to create a non-theatrical Film distribution company and lease films to condos and other non-theatrical situations" The Business blossomed as Movie Film Service was born. We had an average of 20 to 30 shows a night; seven days a week; 365 days a year. This was before the days of DVDs, VHS, HBO, and cable TV. "When I saw what was happening in electronics, I thought I should diversify and re-invent the wheel, again!", so I created:
FAMOUS FACES MODEL & TALENT AGENCY - (1980- PRESENT)
a SAG/AFTRA- franchised talent agency. "TODAY WE HAVE OVER 1200 ACTORS, ACTRESSES, OF ALL AGES" registered with Famous Faces. Also, stunt people, and support services as well. We have supplied talent to hundreds of commercials, motion pictures, industrials,voice-overs, etc. Famous Faces is one of the most respected talent agencies in the country. To be sanctioned by the Screen Actors Guild, you have to be special, and we are just that!
For the past 15 years the movie critic for "Around-Town-News", Florida's oldest Entertainment Newspaper, has been yours truly. I am also, a Carbonell Awards Judge. The Carbonell Awards to Florida is what the Tony Awards is to New York City. I see the live shows and if I like them I recommend them for awards. Then the judges vote for the best play, musical, actors, etc. Each year the awards ceremony is held at the Broward Center for Performing Arts. It is locally televised in Florida.
FAMOUS FACES PRODUCTIONS & MOTION PICTURES-(NOW!-TODAY! & BEYOND!) When asked if Paul has a lot on his plate, my answer to that is priceless. "You may think I have a lot on my plate. If I think I have a lot on my plate, then I'll just get a larger plate!
