Jeff Marker has shared his opinions about movies since 2007. He wrote for The Gainesville Times, a local daily in Georgia, for several years and has contributed to the Daily Film Fix since 2010. He has been a member of SEFCA since 2011.
Jeff earned a Ph.D in Comparative Literature from the University of Georgia and has taught at the University of North Georgia since 2006. He has been published in the academic journals Literature/Film Quarterly, The Journal of Popular Culture, and Surveillance & Society, and has presented at numerous academic conferences. He has been the head of the Communication, Media & Journalism Department at UNG since 2013. He also serves as Executive Director of the Georgia Film Festival and has served on juries, appeared on panels, and/or moderated screenings for numerous festivals, including the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, the Atlanta Film Festival, the South Georgia Film Festival, the Macon Film Festival, and Terminus Conference + Festival.
