Darryl’s love of film firmly took hold in 1994 the first time he watched Jurassic Park (yes, he saw it late). Since then, he’s endeavored to discover more about movies, their inner workings, how they connect with audiences, and dissect what makes a great story. Darryl created Poprika in 2014 as a podcast to discuss all aspects of pop culture: film, television, comics, anime, and gaming. After being accepted to the North Carolina Film Critics Association, he has retired all but the movie aspect and is dedicated to providing thoughtful analysis via both his audio and written reviews, as well as co-hosting the Cine-Men podcast with Elements of Madness creator and SEFCA member Douglas Davidson.
