Bob Carlton has written about movies, television, theater and books for The Birmingham News and AL.com since 1980. He was the film critic for The News from 1986 until 2006. He currently writes about Southern culture for the Alabama Media Group’s This is Alabama brand. He is a founding member and past president of the Southeastern Film Critics Association.
